Guangdong LNG project had started work on December 28th, 2003. Along with the first-phase project put into production, the LNG picked from Australia seabed was deliverd to Shenzhen Pingtoujiao receiving station. The gasifying natural gas deliver to Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Foshan and Hongkong, as well as five power stations in Huizhou, Qianwan, Zhujiang, Meishi and East ministry. According to the gas using plan, Guangdong LNG project is devided into two phase, the first-phase project receiving ability is 3.7 million tons per year; the second-phase project receiving ability is 6.6 million tons per year, increase the Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhuhai and Huizhou city gas usage.

The sulfur content in LNG is low, and the glasshouse gas in LNG station is less than the one output in coal-burning power plant, so it is propitious to prevent the acid rain.
